Mindfulist 1/11: One Item

Desk clutter: Can you remove one item from you work area to give yourself more space to think? Do so now.

… I shifted a pile of paperwork.

From my desk to my boss’s desk. It’ll be back tomorrow.

Okay, fine, that’s the procedure for that paperwork. Still, it’s always nice when that set of folders is off my desk for a day or two. The load feels much lighter.

As for the rest of it, I don’t have much of an organization system, but I do have things where I need them. Usually that means sitting out for quick reference. Think of them as mini-hutches– hutches that actually do what you intended in the first place, before they become huge and untenable.

I do pare them down regularly:

Hutch maintenance is the key to healthy hutches. Spay or neuter your hutches so they don’t breed, and tag them for proper tracking.

This has been your HutchPSA for the day.

*tips hat* You’re quite welcome. A pleasure to have you stop by.
